Celebrate the best of the season at Santa Cruz’s Music for Feast of Christmas!
Please join Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus for this popular concert, a wonderful way to begin the holiday season with an evening of warmth, music and sing-along Christmas carols.
Music for the Feast of Christmas 2013 will feature Johann Sebastian Bach's stunning setting of the canticle, Magnificat, scored for chamber orchestra of strings, flutes, oboes, trumpets, percussion, and continuo, and 5-voice setting (SSATB), with solos. The program also features the Singing Heart by Bob Chicott, (formerly with the King's Singers), and a contemporary arrangement of Amazing Grace by Roger Ames.
Motets and holiday Selections will round out this musical celebration. Conductor Cheryl Anderson and chorus invite the audience to join in familiar carols, arranged by British composer John Rutter.
Under the direction of Cheryl Anderson, the Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus has toured throughout the finest concert halls in the United States and Europe. The Chorus traveled to Italy and Croatia in June/ July 2013.
