plus Traditional Music of the Season

Celebrate the best of the season Creole style, at Santa Cruz’s Music for Feast of Christmas! This season’s program includes Ariel Ramírez’s world famous Misa Criolla made popular by José Carreras. The work will showcase soloists and indigenous instruments. The music is based on the rhythms and traditions of Argentina.
Also featured, is James McCray’s beautiful Magnificat and other songs of the season. Sing carols with the brass choir to celebrate the beginning of the holidays.
Under the direction of Cheryl Anderson, the Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus has toured throughout the finest concert halls in the United States and Europe. The Chorus traveled to Ireland in June 2009 to perform Messiah in Dublin in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Handel's death. They recently sang the GALA opening of Cabrillo’s Crocker Theater and performed the Dedicatory Recital of Cabrillo’s New Music Recital Hall with a performance of Handel’s Messiah with orchestra.
